Rebecca's First Day of School

Rebecca began attending Harrowbarrow School today. We took her to school not knowing whether or not they would be ready for her today, but Mr. Hunt, the Head Teacher, was very gracious and welcoming. Rebecca was taken back to her classroom to begin the day and Christine and I headed home. Rebecca told me a lot about school when I returned home from Plymouth. She has made some friends, had lessons in maths, reading, writing, and music, and got to play "It" on the covered playground. She was especially excited to have vegetable and rice korma and rhubarb crumble with custard for lunch. Christine and I wish that we could go and eat lunch with her sometime! Here she is in her new school uniform,

and here she is with her sister.

  2. So the girls are in school together now! Kay said that the menu has not changed since her school days. She will be curious to see if the sweet continues daily through the week, getting thicker by the day with increasing custard...

The cottage brings back many more memories and is more spacious than ours!
